Cavtat is a place of exceptionally long and fascinating history that holds many secrets. Vedran, our expert guide, will take you on a journey through time and introduce you to Epidaurus, an ancient Roman colony that existed over 2000 years ago. He will reveal why this once important settlement disappeared and why its remains are almost invisible today. In addition, you will learn stories about two great Croatian artists who, through their presence and works, transformed Cavtat into a significant cultural centre. One of them was an extremely talented painter with an opus of over 1000 works, while the other, a master sculptor, created an architectural masterpiece that immortalizes a story of love and death.
About the storyteller: Born and raised in Dubrovnik, Vedran Mezei is a professional tour guide and has published two books in the English language. His historical novel The Third Key has been a bestseller in Dubrovnik bookshops for the past several years.
