Children’s playground “Voaz”, Cavtat / starting from 17:00

As part of the "Books Under the Trees" program, organized by the Dubrovnik Libraries, with the support of the City of Dubrovnik and the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia, the "Voaz" children's playground in Cavtat on Tuesday, August 18th will become a meeting place for the youngest readers, lovers of local stories and an audience eager for good contemporary prose. The program is in Croatian.
The program begins at 5:00 PM with activities for the youngest. Entitled "The Story of Cavtat", the children's part of the program will open with the presentation of the picture book "Cavtislava" by Tajana Martic, an imaginative publication that brings local cultural and natural heritage closer to children through stories and native motifs. The literary adventure then goes beyond the pages of the book - Maroje Čupic will take the youngest on an interactive tour of the streets of Cavtat, combining storytelling, play and exploring the city in a child-friendly and fun way.
During the day, the playground area will be filled with books available for reading in the shade of the treetops, and as part of the popular "Books as a Gift" campaign, all visitors will be able to choose a book for free and take it home.
The evening slot at 7 p.m. is reserved for lovers of suspenseful narratives and contemporary domestic prose. Author Miro Morovic will present his novel "Island" (Fragment Publishing House). Morovic - a lawyer by profession, musician and author of the novels "The Blacksmith's Children" and "The Lost Prince" - brings an exciting thriller set in a Croatian island setting in his new title. The story follows a young Zagreb architect, Matija Maroš, whose relaxed summer vacation on the island of his childhood, after an encounter at a local party, turns into a tense nightmare.
